The iconic and renovated Tropical Botanical Garden, next to the Jerónimos Monastery in Belém, will host magical garden, the latest immersive and interactive project of the atelier Portuguese OCUBO, which runs until January 10, 2021, for a round the world through a route of more than one kilometer.
This means that you still have many days to pass through Belém and make the night tour outdoors with dozens of bright, sound and interactive installations. The space, which was inaugurated in October, stands out for holograms, videomapping and thousands of LED lamps.
Since its opening, magical garden has welcomed 33,000 visitors. It runs from Thursday to Sunday (including public holidays), except weekends covered by the new state of emergency, with sessions between 18 and 22 hours.
With more than 300 lanterns and thousands of LED lamps, as well as holograms, light sculptures and even interactive proposals, the route promises to highlight some of the tropical botanical species of the garden and surprise the visitor with luminous installations and themed sound environments, where dinosaurs and wildlife such as elephants, tigers or leopards will be sighted.
A videomapping show is also be projected on the façade of the Palace of the Counts of Calheta, in which content on the herbarium species of this garden is revealed.
On Thursday, the ticket price is €15 and from Friday to Sunday €17.5. Family Packs range from 36€ (two adults and one child) to 49.5€ (two adults and two children). Reduced-price tickets for children aged 4 to 11, seniors over 65, students and residents in the Lisbon metropolitan area range from €12 to €14.5. There are also specific values for groups. Kids up to three don’t pay. Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket office at the event venue, and it is recommended that the purchase be online.
