CoolJazz and Boom Festival have been postponed to 2022
The EDP CoolJazz festival is postponed to 2022. Due to the global situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and consequent public health uncertainties, the event marks a new date for July 2022″, again in Cascais, says the promoter Live Experiences.
The CoolJazz poster for this year included, among others, John Legend, Lionel Richie, Neneh Cherie and Kokoroko, Jorge Ben Jor and Herbie Hancock.
“For all the respect we have for the public, artists, technicians, everyone involved and, of course, for public health, this is how we are obliged to postpone until 2022. This festival has years of history, has a lot of credibility with the artists, the public, the agents, the public and we do not want to offer anything more than the best, and in 2021, the conditions are not met. We see each other very willingly in 2022,” said The Promoter and Director of Live Experiences, Karla Campo, quoted in the statement.
Tickets purchased for 2020 and 2021 “will be valid for the same concerts of 2022, and no exchange is required”. The organization promises, for “brief”, “additional ticket information, new dates and other information necessary to the public”.
Also, it is not yet this year that festival-goers will be able to return to boom. After last year’s edition was cancelled and postponed to 2021 because of the pandemic, the festival has now been postponed again. According to the organization, it will now take place in July next year.
Thus, the next edition of the festival is scheduled for the period from 22 to 29 July 2022. In this way, it will coincide with the year in which boom celebrates the 25th anniversary of the first edition. “Due to the pandemic we do not celebrate, once again, together in the summer of 2021; but the community unites for something unique: the 25th anniversary party, a quarter of a century of Boom Festival on Earth in 2022,” the organization explained on the festival’s website.
In the same statement, the organization highlights the efforts that had already been made as early as 2021 to try to ensure that the festival could take place this year, but given the current context it was not possible to organize an event in good condition. The meeting is thus scheduled for next summer.
