“We will dance in 2022”: Porto’s music festival postpones its ninth edition until next year

The postponement was announced this Tuesday by the festival organization. The ninth edition of the festival, which was due to take place next June, is now postponed to 9 to 12 June next year. The “painful” but “correct” decision to spend another year without Primaverse Sound is due to the “uncertainties surrounding the performance of major shows on the original dates” of the event that, “added to the restrictions that currently exist, make it not possible to work normally in the preparation of the festival or ensure its celebration”.

The organization of the festival ensures that there was “permanent contact” with local authorities and the Directorate-General for Health “to explore possible solutions”, but prevailed the will to celebrate Primavera Sound “as before”, which is not yet expected possible. “At least not in the way the full festival experience should be lived,” reads the statement released today by the organization.

With thanks to the “support of all artists, agencies, sponsors, production companies and all the collaborators who fought” for the festival in 2021, is the promise of a “best edition, great and unforgettable” edition next year, whose alignment will be announced until June 5.

Tickets purchased for the 2020 and 2021 editions are valid for the 2022 edition, and you can also request your refund from January 1, 2022.

For NOS Primavera Sound there were confirmations like Tame Impala and Gorillaz. Also the Primavera Sound de Barcelona, which would be held in Spain from 2 to 6 June, canceled its edition this year.
