Skip the Hostel Headaches!

by Lisboeta

While planning our comfy holiday cribs in advance is often in everyone’s best interests, the harsh reality of frantic last minute scrambles for accommodation is all too real (trust us, we’ve been there too). That is why we’ve decided to come up with this little Lisbon hostel guide to ensure that your horror hostel stories are now a thing of the past … well at least for Lisbon anyways!

In this article, we sourced 3 of the best hostels in Lisbon City so that you don’t have to. Enjoy!

Sunset Destination (Party-goers)

Kicking things off with a bang is everyone’s favorite Lisbon party hostel. Overlooking the tranquil Tagus river, this happening hideaway features noise-reducing bunkbeds cloaked in intricate Turkey-inspired design. An immaculate rooftop pool coupled nestled alongside the Zebra Rooftop Bar makes for very refreshing evenings. Free breakfasts, sumptuous BBQS, free beer (7-8pm) and astounding sunset views are also offered in this rightly dubbed 5-star hostel.

Home Hostel Lisbon (Comfort-seekers)

Should the idea of a cozily furnished, laid back hostel appeal more to the senses, look no further than Home Hostel. Posh wooden floorboards and warm smiles line the corridors of this 200-year-old building. Decked in mahogany bookshelves, snug sofas, a huge world map (in case you get lost) and large ornate glass windows, the lounge is just one of many beautifully fitted rooms the hostel has to offer. Walking tours for a fraction of usual prices can be found here as well as the rather unique tradition of ‘mama’s dinner’ – a surprise we neigh spoil!

The Dorm (Digital-Nomads)

The advent of the 21st century ushers in a new niche in digital-nomading and hence the demand for inspirational co-working spaces. The Dorm is one such place, situated right smack in the middle of Lisbon’s arguably biggest startup and creative hub – the LX factory. Adorned with carpeted wooden floors, skateboard-filled walls, all manner of intricate ornaments and VERY comfortable sofas, this hostel boasts a creative and peaceful lounge for digital nomads to bask in. It is also fitted with a fully equipped kitchen should the temptation to rustle something up ever kick in!
