This Saturday, September 12, the Cineteatro Capitol in Lisbon hosts a solidarity concert that aims to help the victims of the humanitarian crisis currently in Yemen. The show’s name Estamos Aqui, Iémen!(we’re here, Yemen!) and was promoted by presenter and actress Cláudia Semedo in collaboration with the city council.
It will include performances by Ana Moura, Branko, Carlão, Sara Tavares, Chullage, Selma Uamusse, Márcia, Mayra Andrade, Capicua and Dino D’Santiago. The funds raised will revert to Ms. Sans Frontiers’ missions in that region.
Destroyed by five years of civil war, with dysfunctional health units, collapsing water and health systems, affected by the pandemic, cholera outbreaks, with 80% of the 24 million inhabitants in need of food assistance and a significant drop in humanitarian aid, Yemen is experiencing one of the biggest humanitarian crises of this century.
The show starts at 21:30 this Saturday and tickets will cost 20€. Those who do not want or can attend, but wish to contribute to the cause, can make donations to Doctors without Borders.
Tickets on sale here.
