MAAT: Where Art, Architecture, and Technology Intersect
In Lisbon, Portugal, you’ll find the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT), a contemporary cultural center. The EDP Foundation initiated this project, which sits beautifully on the banks of the Tagus River in the district of Belém. British architect Amanda Levete designed the museum, and it opened its doors to the public on October 5, 2016.
Architectural Wonder
MAAT stands as a testament to modern architecture. Its unique wave-like design blends seamlessly with the landscape. Approximately 15,000 white ceramic tiles cover the building’s exterior, creating a stunning reflection of the sunlight and the water of the Tagus River. Furthermore, the rooftop offers a panoramic view of the river and the city, attracting locals and tourists alike.

MAAT presents a diverse range of exhibitions and events that delve into the intersection of art, architecture, and technology. The programming splits into four main areas: the main exhibition program, the video art program, the site-specific commissions, and the educational project.
